Our Amazing Team!

Scott Steenbergh
HEART President, MSW, CAADC
I have faith in the idea that people can and do change. In my experience, change is not always a linear process. Often, when trying to change a situation or behavior, people fall short or stumble. Being able to truly evaluate an individual's strengths and building upon those, allows for the needed empowerment to overcome our barriers. I am passionate about helping individuals to overcome various behavioral health concerns.
Whether you are facing addiction, anxiety, anger issues, addiction to pornography, grief, stress, depression or trauma, I use a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach, coupled with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, to build upon your inherent resiliency to effect change.
I have a specific passion for helping individuals and families to realize that recovery from addiction issues is realistic and achievable. I have many years of experience providing care for substance abuse counseling for adolescent and adult populations. I realize that addiction does not discriminate, and I feel comfortable in treating individuals from all backgrounds.

Jeff Steenbergh
MSW, LMSW, CAADC, ADS
I work with people who want change from a variety of concerns. No matter what it is, I believe we can all change and find a life we deserve and are happy with. I believe a therapist’s role is to help people find a life they never thought possible, not just a life they once had.
Additionally, I provide services such as Substance Use Disorder evaluations for individuals who are seeking driver's license reinstatement through the Secretary of State Driver's License Appeal And Assessment Division. I specialize in the treatment of Addictions, Depression, Anxiety, Posttraumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury / Catastrophic Injury, Marriage and Family Therapy / Couples Counseling, and Grief and Loss. I have extensive training in all these areas, have additional training in Auricular Acupuncture for behavioral health, and believe in a problem-solving approach to therapy.
I view the therapeutic relationship as the most important relationship two people can build. I view you as a person instead of a client, with strengths instead of deficiencies and believe in your right to wellness. I listen without judgement, and I believe humor and pop culture (especially movies) are some of the greatest therapeutic tools we have.
